On our way around the cape we took a detour to see the eastern most tip of New Zealand. This is the first place on earth to see the sunrise each morning. The East Cape Lighthouse was too much of a trek for us on the very wet and windy day that we were there. This is a waterfall we saw on the road to the lighthouse.
