Castle Point

We took a long weekend to head south to a little town called Masterton - lots of farming, some wineries and nice beaches. This beach/town is called Castle Point. It was a lovely, sunny/windy day for a long walk on the beach with the dogs then a hike to the top to take in the view.

Above the Lighthouse

This is a view from the top of Castle Point. It was a nice little hike on a very windy day.

Home of the Lost Soles

This just struck us as amusing; it was on the beach near the light house.

Henley Lake

This was a lake in a very nice park right in Masterton. There were many trails around the lake, an area of wetlands and a river walk. We spent a lovely, if windy, afternoon exploring here.

New Zealand Green

Spring here is absolutely amazing. There are acres and acres of pastures that look like green velvet. The photos don't do the scenery justice.

Big "O" Evergreen

Didn't get the view we initially saw of this tree. It looked like a heart in the middle, but in this photo is looks more like an "O." (Ok, you have to hallucinate a little bit, work with me.)
